About the event

In this hands-on session, join experienced gardeners to create wicking beds from an IBC (Intermediate Bulk Container). Wicking beds are water-efficient raised garden beds, mainly used for growing vegies. They will talk about our experience with these products.

While these are an innovative gardening approach nothing is perfect and we will discuss pros, cons and alternatives.

The beds made will be used at the garden, but there may be a chance to buy some excess IBCs from us. All our IBCs had single use food grade liquids in them.

We will provide the tools needed. The group size will be limited to 10 participants to ensure safety using power tools and to ensure everyone gets to try each step in the production.

Wear old clothes that you don't mind getting dirty.

If you have a suggestion for a future workshop, we would love to hear it, email wcggrows@gmail.com and we'll see what we can do.

We acknowledge the Peek Whurrong People of the Maar Nation as the original custodians of the land on which we meet and garden. Our garden adjoins a significant place, we continue to learn its history as we work together in a spirit of reconciliation.
