Plots are rented by members, families and community groups to grow and harvest their own produce. 

They have exclusive use of their plot and are responsible for keeping their space weed free, tidy and productive.


If you are interested in hiring a plot, read about the application process then talk to our site manager or convenor.

How to join

  1. Tour the Warrnambool Community Garden

    Have a tour of the garden with an experienced member. The convenor, site manager or a committee member are great people for the tour and a chat. If you are thinking about hiring a plot, you may be able to look at some options.

     

  2. Complete the application form

    Read our rules, policies and guidelines and our statement of purpose. Make sure you give us a few words about why you are joining. If you are a family or an organisation, include a second adult contact. 

    Do not pay membership fees up front.

     

  3. Approval of application and follow up

    The committee meets on the second Tuesday of each month except January and is responsible for approving membership applications. Once approved, we'll contact you with options to pay your membership fees. Your details are placed on the our member register and we'll get in touch with some times to complete a site induction.

     

  4. Pay membership fees

    Members pay an annual fee according to their membership type to support the operations of the garden and contribute according to their skills, interests and abilities.

Concessions must present their valid Commonwealth concession or student card.

Small not-for-profits with annual revenue under $500,000 

Corporate and large not-for-profits with an annual revenue over $500,000

A standard plot is 4m x 4m with some variation. All are the same price.

Key deposit is a once off fee and gives access out of hours. 

Members are contacted each year to renew memberships and plot hire.

 

Updates to membership and changes to plots including hiring or relinquishing should be done by contacting the Treasurer on treasurer@wcg3280.org.au

If you decide to stop being a member, please let us know so we can update our records.
