Lions Hopkins Kindergarten received a grant from Woolworths through Junior Landcare to set up three worm farms at the kindergarten.

One of the children who attends our afterschool Kids in the Garden program asked coordinator Heather if she could help to get them started off.

Introducing worm farms not only creates a valuable active learning experience for the children but provides them with the opportunity to care for the environment in an interactive way.

Some of the children took an active role in helping to set up the worm farms and took an interest in "How to use the Worm Farm", keeping in mind balance, moderation and diversity in their diet.

We're sure the veggies planted in the raised beds will benefit from the harvested worm tea.

We acknowledge the Peek Whurrong People of the Maar Nation as the original custodians of the land on which we meet and garden. Our garden adjoins a significant place, we continue to learn its history as we work together in a spirit of reconciliation.
