Congratulations Courtney: Warrnambool's Young Citizen of the Year

Writer's picture: Rob PorterRob Porter

A massive congratulations to our youngest committee member and deputy-convenor, Courtney Mathew on being named Warrnambool City Council's Young Citizen of the Year!

A superstar behind the scenes helping us to secure grant funding, supporting other volunteers, improving the website, databases, communications and garden administration and bringing us up with the latest social media trends with debut into reels. She was the lead organiser of our hugely successful Live in the Quarry event last year and is always a positive and bubbly face around the garden.

Congratulations to the other deserving winners pictured above: Ailiche Goddard-Clegg - Local Achiever Award, Tom Richardson - Warrnambool Citizen of the Year, Courtney, representatives from The F Project’s Fabric of Life Festival - Community Event of the Year and mayor Ben Blain.

We acknowledge the Peek Whurrong People of the Maar Nation as the original custodians of the land on which we meet and garden. Our garden adjoins a significant place, we continue to learn its history as we work together in a spirit of reconciliation.
